Sheep skin of "Spælsau"

Spælsau sheepskins have lovely, long hair and fit well as interior decoration in homes and cabins. They work well on chairs, daybeds, sofas etc. Here your creativity decides. They keep you warm and can also be used on outdoor trips.

However, they should not be used where they can get very damp. The skins are tanned and therefore do not tolerate getting soaked. The tanning makes them soft and completely clean on the skin side, so they are very well suited indoors. If you are going on a trip in damp conditions, we recommend dried reindeer hides instead, which you can find in our online store.

Spælsau is an old Norwegian sheep breed with long traditions. Spælsau skins are known for their beautiful, long-haired look and their natural, rustic character. Each skin is unique, with its own colour shades and character.

Colour options: The skins come in different colours, and all skins are different. See the “drop-down menu” below the price.

Feel free to contact us if you have a particular colour wish. The pictures are only examples of colours, not the exact colour.

B-grade: The skins have a seam on the skin side, which in practice is barely visible. The quality is otherwise the same as A-grade – a good buy at a reduced price.

Size: The skins are from large lambs and measure approx. 90x100 cm.

Care: If you need to wash the skin, these skins can be machine washed. Wash on the wool programme in the washing machine.
