Sheep skin av "Spælsau"
Sheepskin has beautiful long hair and fits well as interior decoration in houses and cabins. They fit well in chairs, sleigh beds, sofas, etc. Here creativity is the key. They warm well and can also be used well on outdoor trips.
However, they should not be used where they can get very wet. The leather is tanned and therefore does not tolerate being soaked. The tanning makes them soft and completely clean on the skin side and is therefore suitable indoors. If you are going on a trip in humid environments, we recommend dried reindeer leather, which you can find in our online store.
Wild sheep is a commonly used term for old Norwegian sheep of the spælsau type, actually a stray domestic sheep. The wild sheep survived on islands along the west coast of Norway and have been spread along the entire Norwegian coast since the 1950s. The spælsau is a descendant of these.
The Old Norwegian sheep is considered the most original type of sheep in this country. It is a descendant of the type of sheep that was widespread throughout Northern Europe in ancient times.
