The last hides of the season can be ordered now. Only a small number in stock. Out-of-stock sizes can be pre-ordered with delivery in autumn 2026.

Our hides are nailed and dried using the old traditional method we learned from Sámi culture. Each hide is nailed into shape according to its natural form, where it hangs until dry. All hides are scraped and brushed by hand.

We are sold out of dried reindeer hides. If you want to secure a hide for the autumn season, you can place a pre-order for delivery in August.

Approximate sizes measured along the back:
Calf: 100–120 cm
Adult: 120–150 cm
Large male: 150–180+ cm

The sizes are approximate. They may vary somewhat, as we measure the hides before they are possibly trimmed. The sizes are based on an overall assessment of both length and width.

The color of the hide will vary. Please include your preferred color, and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

A dried reindeer hide must not be confused with dressed, tanned, or impregnated hide. If you need a reindeer hide for outdoor use, it must be either dried or impregnated. We prefer dried, as it weighs less and performs better.

Dried hide is durable and water-resistant. It retains a lot of heat and weighs little. Works excellently on trips in winter! For example on the ground, in a hammock, or in a tent. It takes a lot of moisture over time before it penetrates and is felt on top of the fur. This can be avoided by using another layer between the hide and the ground. Dried reindeer hide does not normally shed, but the hairs of the reindeer are hollow and can therefore break. This can be experienced as shedding. It is also important to remember that this is a 100% natural product from an animal. Some people find that dried hide has a strong smell, but this can largely be avoided with proper maintenance.

A dried reindeer hide must be dried thoroughly after use. This is done by hanging it in a well-ventilated and dry place under a roof or, for example, in a shed. It must not be stored in plastic for extended periods. If this is not followed, the hide may begin to shed and smell. Once the hide is properly dried after use, we recommend placing it in our storage bag for hides.

It is important that you follow our maintenance advice to prevent the hide from spoiling and starting to shed. We inspect all our hides before they are shipped. We cannot take responsibility for the product after it has been used. If anything does not seem right when you receive it, please contact us immediately.

Recommended sizes for different uses
Calf: Suitable as an extra large seat pad, sleeping mat for children, sleeping mat for dogs, day-trip hide, etc. These hides take up little space and weigh very little.

Adult: The most sold and versatile hide we offer. Perfect size for most uses. Suitable as a sleeping mat for most adults. Works well in a tent, hammock, or under a tarp. Fits well on a backpack and weighs little.

Large male: If you prefer plenty of space and want to cover your whole body with the hide, this is the size for you. Suitable for covering most of a tent floor, a snowmobile sled, a lavvu, on floors, etc. Also works well on a backpack. This size takes up some space and weighs approx. 2 kg. This size is rarely large and is therefore available in limited quantities with each slaughter.

Please contact us if you are unsure which hide is right for you.
